At the Kiribati Housing Corporation, the Human Resources Officer (HRO) plays a vital role in implementing the broader framework of Human Resource Management (HRM). While HRM provides the strategic vision for workforce planning, employee development, and aligning staff capabilities with housing goals, the HRO is responsible for the day-to-day execution of these strategies. This includes managing recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance with labor laws, and employee relations. By ensuring that policies are applied consistently and staff are supported effectively, the HRO strengthens organizational capacity and enables KHC to deliver sustainable housing solutions. In essence, HRM sets the direction, and the HRO ensures its practical application, making the HR function both a strategic and operational cornerstone of KHC’s mission.
